YouTuber CarryMinati’s channel hacked; hackers ask for bitcoin donations-2020

CarryMinati’s YouTube channel was hacked earlier in the day. Hackers broke into CarryMinati’s YouTube channel and asked for bitcoin donations from subscribers. Soon after the channel was hacked Minati took to Twitter to inform YouTube about the incident and asked for “immediate assistance”. The video platform was prompt to respond and resolve the issue immediate. CarryMinati who’s real name is Ajey Nagar tweeted, “@YouTubeIndia My channel Carryislive has been hacked, need immediate assistance.” YouTube first apologised in a reply to the tweet and asked him to connect over DM to regain the channel. Team YouTube tweeted, “We’re really sorry this happened. Mind following us so we can continue with next steps over DM?” The incident was similar to Twitter Bitcoin scam that compromised accounts of some of the popular personalities such as Elon Musk, Bill Gates,  Barack Obama , among others. Twitter  users with verified accounts started to be able to send tweets again at around 8:30 pm EDT, after the company had silenced some of its highest-profile users in response to an hours-long security incident. China is trying to hack U.S. healthcare companies to find COVID-19 vaccine

The FBI is warning american healthcare companies to be on the lookout for hacking attempts made by China after national security leaders say China is trying to steal its way to making a COVID-19 vaccine. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien agrees with this week’s warning from FBI director Christopher Wray who said China wants to steal any information it can on COVID-19. “It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that’s what they’re doing,” O’Brien said. O’Brien added this approach is nothing new for China. The FBI also warned about Chinese hacking attempts in May 2020. “The Chinese have been hacking and stealing intellectual property and technology from America for the last 40 to 50 years,” O’Brien said. There are more than 400 vaccine and therapy programs under research and development worldwide with some at major U.S. companies.
